Lanzarote facts... as we know it

There has been so much speculation in the press and on social media, I thought I would try and state the facts as I know them today
Number of Covid-19 cases in Lanzarote
The number of active cases in Lanzarote is now 90 very slightly up on last week, which translates to 35 cases per 100,000 , The UK in comparison is 56 cases per 100,000
The 3rd wave in Europe is a lot of negative press this week
How is Spain and the UK getting on?... thought it might be better to show it graphically
Vaccination programme in the Canary Islands
The programme is still stuttering mainly due to lack of consistent supply with 4.04% of the population vaccinated, 3 weeks ago it was 2.5%, hopefully there will be a step change in the coming weeks
The Canarian President stated this week they are ready to vaccinate 50% of the Adult population this summer ............ subject to supply
Current daily average of vaccinations 1552, they have capacity for 25,000 per day
Spain has lifted the travel ban from United Kingdom
UK citizens will be able to travel to Spain and The Canaries ( subject to certain requirements) and will require only a PCR test on entry. Of course the UK government needs to allow international travel
UK Travel ban "Red" list
Neither Spain nor the Canary Islands are on the "Red" list therefore no hotel quarantine requirements when entering the UK
New laws
You may have read about a £5,000 fine if you travel abroad before End of July from the UK
As the "stay at home" order finishes March 28, the UK government has introduced legislation to ensure people do not start travelling on March 29
The end July date is a "just in case it is needed' date, that is all
Key dates
April 12 - UK government's Global Travel Taskforce will reconvene to issue a report recommending how international trips can resume safely including the use of a Covid passport. Boris said this week he expects to give an "update" on international travel on April 5
May 17 - Hopefully the date International travel might recommence
EU Digital Green Certificate due in the summer, no date has been stated
Spain is in separate discussions with UK on a Covid-19 passport / certificate
